0:01 it’s Christmas. 0:08 a tiny mouse (piccolo) is scurrying underground in the dark, through tunnels and splashing through puddles. The viewpoint rises up through a cross section of ground, past pipes and treasures, and comes to rest on a mousehole in a low wall. 0:39 mouse pops out of the hole onto the snowy city street. 0:49 he scampers down the crowded city pavement, with taxis running by. 0:56 he pauses to watch dancers skating in a toy shop window display. 1:05 mouse scrambles along the pavement, avoiding feet, pressed up against wall 1:11 horse and carriage passes by. 1:25 It’s all so big and so loud. Tiny mouse curls up into a ball at the side of the pavement, totally overwhelmed and scared. The big world is moving on around him, ignoring this tiny creature. 1:32 a huge white-gloved hand gently picks the mouse up. Cradling him gently, Santa Claus lifts him up and up and up... looks at him with kind and loving eyes… no-one else can see them (that’s the magic of Santa Claus)... he lifts him up high above the rooftops so he can look down on the snowy city. 1:52 Santa and the mouse tumble down a chimney together… 1:57 ...to a calm, safe, warm Christmassy room. There’s a crackling fire, presents under a tree, and food everywhere! 2:06 The mouse starts to explore his new home, safe in the warmth, as carol singers serenade outside. 02:41 Santa clicks his fingers and disappears. The mouse scampers round in delight… and finds a beribboned cheese next to a mousehole under the tree.
